Sinhala Language and Literature day 2010 of Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya.

Sinhala Literary Association of Batuwangala Maha vidyalaya Organized annual Sinhala Language and Literature day 2010 as "subasara 2010" Yesterday. Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya pays much attention on cocurricular studies of its' students' and their presentation skills. This time the event was done with the paricipation of Mrs. Daya Liyanage,Asistant Director of Education,Udugama Zone, As the Cheif guist, Mrs. Deepani Wijesiriwardene, Child care and probation Officer, Neluwa divisinal secretariet office, Mr.Kithsiri Gamage, secretory, OBA and, Mrs. Prema Athukorala , Cultural officer form Neluwa divisional secretariat office were present as distinguish guests. Firstly the Guests were Accompanied to the main hall with traditinal reception dancing. Bmv Aesthetic core performed this event. We would like to thank Mrs.Biyanka Liyanage for her contribution. Then lighting the traditional oil Lamp. This lamp was made by using young coconut leaves and banana stem by college Aesthetic core with the help of third party Dancing academy. Then the agenda items started. First item was a dace by BMV girls.This was created by "Thisara wannama". Girls from Grade nine to twelve participated for this.
Next there was an item of Vaddass dance by grade 6, 7, 8, 9 Boys and Girls. This was a fine performance by students. next item was a Song by primary students. Majority of Primary students were on stage and they sung this song very nicely.
Then it was the time for Chief guests Speech.Mrs. Daya Liyanage,Asistent Director of Education,Udugama Zone delivered her speech with some Advices to the students. She elaborated on the impotence of sinhala culture and Language. After this speech Isuru Madhushan, From Grade 13 presented up country wes dance with the help of some of his friends from Arundathi Academy of traditional dancing.
After Isurus Dancing Item there was a presentation of Certificates.This was to present the certificates to the students of BMV who won the 5th place of all island debate series of Mother sr Lanka. After presenting the Certificates again there was a low country Dancing item By Isuru Madhushan, From Grade 13 with the help of some of his friends from Arundathi Academy of traditional dancing.
Finally Vote of thanks was done by Mr.Sujith Priyantha Gamage, The sinhala Language teacher of Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya.
