Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya conducted a pirith Chanting inside the school for blessing the GCE OL Students with their forth coming Examination.This was proposed and seconded at the e-kids society.Parents of grade 11 were all there and they build a nice "pirith kotuwa" for the Ceremony.Ven.Mawanane Amarawansa,The chief Buddhist monk of the area gave his fullest support to the Function.We started the event by in housing the relic by 8.30pm on 27th of October 2009.This Pirith chanting ceremony was lively web cased by the evillage students of Batuwangala evillage.
Sudath Withanachi,Vice principal of BMV in housed the relic.Then 12 of budhist monks strted the activity.First the Chief monk Ven.Mawanane Amarawansa Gave a Patronage speech and he blessed our Teachers for the idea of having this kind of activity inside the school.
The Students of Grade 11,their parents,The GCE OL students of naighbouring schools were sat inside of the main hall.Parents of Grade 11 Students had organized the refreshments while the pirith Chanting.
The chanting of pirith was concluded by the very morning of the following day and the students were blessed By the Pariwenadhipathi,Ven.Denagama Lankananda thero.
Then the parents got ready for the Arms giving in the morning and 12 of monks were participated for the event.Ven.Mawanane Amarawansa blessed the children with al the best for their examination and adviced that keep working hard as so far they have done and this kind of event blesses those who do not give up and try hard.

Finally the relic was out housed and the pirith Chanting was ceremonially Concluded by the 7am of 28th of October 2009.We would like to thank every one who helped us with this event.Speacially with to the parents and Villagers who gave their maximum support.We also aim to to this next year also and we believe this kind of event do help to strengthen the morality of students to face the examination.

"Pirith" chanting in Batuwangala Maha vidyalaya PDF Print E-mail

Batuwangala Maha vidyalaya is going to have a "Pirith" chanting in side the school premises on 27th of October 2009.Chanting of Pirith is a Buddhist Religious ritual. It deals with the chanting of selected "Sutras"  loudly and ceremoniously. Sutras are a religious precept which are composed in to hymns with a story behind them. They can be sung in rhythm and can be kept in mind easily. The selected Sutras contain precepts that relate to needs and day-to-day affairs of both lay men and priests.

This is to bless the students who are going to sit for the GCE O/L this December.We would like to invite to the whole world to be joined with us with this event.The Wining team of Mother Sri lanka debate series and the students who brought the BMV to the cyber space are from grade 11 who are going to sit for the Examination this time.

This event will be Lively Web cast from the beginning of the Pirith And until the mid night local time.We invite all the people from whole world to join with us.

 
Teachers day function 2009 of Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya. PDF Print E-mail

Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya's students organized a teachers day function to show their gratitude to teachers. This happened during the 9.00am to 2.00pm on 6th October 2009.

Two teachers who were given transfers to another schools were also gathered for the function. The principal lighted the oil lamp decorated by the students and opened the function.

Prefects welcome the teachers and the first item was a welcome song by the college quire. Then all the teachers were welcome to the stage and first teachers were given souvenirs by the prefect board.

Then the students class wise came to the stage and worshiped to the teachers. This was taking so long coz all the students had prepared bookmarks, followers to talk to their teacher.



Grade 11 girls sung a song on “may you live long” for teachers. Then there were items by Grade six and seven also.

Mrs.Karunagamage who had been worked as a primary teacher in Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya for last 15 years were transferred to Galle education zone. Then she addressed the gathering. This was a sadist incident coz students who now are up to grade 14 had been her students.

Mr.Sarath Kumara the late mathematics teacher also was given transfer. He also addressed the gathering. Before Mr.Aruna Chaminda come to the Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya Mr.Sarath was the computer Learning Center Manager for the Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya. Then Mr.Sarath  voluntarily gave the responsibilities to Mr.Aruna to Take over. Today Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya is the pioneer ICT institution In down south, Sri Lanka. We would like to thank Mr.Sarath for his initial step to develop the Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya. Also Mr.Sarath allow Mr. Aruna to conduct after school mathematics classes giving opportunity to students to have a spare teacher for the school work. So we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mr.O.M.Sarath Kumara for his Conduct regarding Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya. We also wish him and the Primary teacher best of luck for their future.

After Mr.Sarath Kumara’s speech Primary teacher Mrs.Pema Addressed the gathering remembering their past memories as a school girl, Young women and a teacher, A close friend Mrs.Karuna Gamage.She wished good luck for our parting two teachers.

Then Wise principal Mr. Sudath Withanachi also addressed the gathering and advised to the children in teacher’s day. Finally Principal, Mrs.Thilaka Wijenayake Addressed the gathering.

She wished to the Parting two teachers and thanked to the Students for arranging such function. The teachers day function of Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya concluded at about 2.00pm.
