We won All Island 5th Place from Mother Sri Lanka Competition.

A series of school debate had been organized by the Mother Sri Lanka organization and Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya won the first place from the Zonal level. The theme of this presentation series was "Inter community cooperation is the commencement of Development".Principal Thilaka Wijenayake was instructing students through her teachers.Mr.Chinthaka Chandrakumra,Mrs.Deepika and Mr.Sudath was training students. This Series of competitions was some what different from the usual competitions among school children. Coz this series of competitions was given instructions to use ICT as well.
Dayana,Ayeshika,Nisansala and Nimesha from Batuwangala e-village project was participated. Mr.Aruna the manager of Batuwangala e-village was the instructor for using multimedia with requirement of Mr.Chinthaka.
The story of our motherland is presently taking a different turn, a turn which is unprecedented and never thought of. At this crucial milestone of our country, Sri Lanka requires the assistance of all its citizens both in and out of Sri Lanka to speed the process of recovery and develop a country which has extraordinary potential. In light of achieving this primary objective, the ‘Mother Sri Lanka’ project is working towards bringing together diverse perspectives under one umbrella to develop positive thinking about Sri Lanka. The Mother Sri Lanka Program is implemented with leadership and direction from the President’s Office.
Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya won the first place from the zonal level.Then we Participate for the district level competition held at Richmond college Galle. We would like to alarm that we won the second place at over there. From 12 schools selected from Galle district we won the second place. Given bellow are the BMV team.
After That we participated for the Provincial level competition held at Univercity of Ruhuna and we won second place from Province.Then we were asked to participate for all Islan competion held at Vishaka Vidyalaya, colombo.
Grand final presentation at Colombo this June 11th Friday. In southern province there are 340 schools, and 350729 students. Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya just came second from 340 schools. So we were ready to go with any situation. Given bellow is our performance at vishaka vidyalaya.
The presentation of certificates and awards for the winners was held at temple trees with the participation of his Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa. Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya came 5th All island. we are informed by a letter from Mother Sri Lanka Foundation. We would like to thank every body who help us to come across this competition. Specially Mr. Chinthaka Chandra Kumara, Mrs. Deepika Liyanage, Mr. Aruna Chaminda, Vice Principal Mr. Sudath vithanachi and Principal Mrs.Thilaka Wijenayake for their endless efforts.
Sinhala Language and Literature day 2010 of Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya.

Sinhala Literary Association of Batuwangala Maha vidyalaya Organized annual Sinhala Language and Literature day 2010 as "subasara 2010" Yesterday. Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya pays much attention on cocurricular studies of its' students' and their presentation skills. This time the event was done with the paricipation of Mrs. Daya Liyanage,Asistant Director of Education,Udugama Zone, As the Cheif guist, Mrs. Deepani Wijesiriwardene, Child care and probation Officer, Neluwa divisinal secretariet office, Mr.Kithsiri Gamage, secretory, OBA and, Mrs. Prema Athukorala , Cultural officer form Neluwa divisional secretariat office were present as distinguish guests. Firstly the Guests were Accompanied to the main hall with traditinal reception dancing. Bmv Aesthetic core performed this event. We would like to thank Mrs.Biyanka Liyanage for her contribution. Then lighting the traditional oil Lamp. This lamp was made by using young coconut leaves and banana stem by college Aesthetic core with the help of third party Dancing academy. Then the agenda items started. First item was a dace by BMV girls.This was created by "Thisara wannama". Girls from Grade nine to twelve participated for this.
Next there was an item of Vaddass dance by grade 6, 7, 8, 9 Boys and Girls. This was a fine performance by students. next item was a Song by primary students. Majority of Primary students were on stage and they sung this song very nicely.
Then it was the time for Chief guests Speech.Mrs. Daya Liyanage,Asistent Director of Education,Udugama Zone delivered her speech with some Advices to the students. She elaborated on the impotence of sinhala culture and Language. After this speech Isuru Madhushan, From Grade 13 presented up country wes dance with the help of some of his friends from Arundathi Academy of traditional dancing.
After Isurus Dancing Item there was a presentation of Certificates.This was to present the certificates to the students of BMV who won the 5th place of all island debate series of Mother sr Lanka. After presenting the Certificates again there was a low country Dancing item By Isuru Madhushan, From Grade 13 with the help of some of his friends from Arundathi Academy of traditional dancing.
Finally Vote of thanks was done by Mr.Sujith Priyantha Gamage, The sinhala Language teacher of Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya.
YMBA of Batuwangala exibited a beautiful vesak lantern last poya day in Batuwangala Rajamaha Viharaya. This was an event advised by the Ven. Mawanane Amarawansa Thero. This vesak lantern was exhibited for three days. Batuwangala evillage video recording team visited the vesak lantern and captured it.
